Fate is a mean kid with a twisted sense of humor

26 Aug

Yesterday I watched a movie that just left me in stitches. I haven’t laughed like that in a long time. The movie is titled Arthur and it is about a spoilt filthy rich British guy called Arthur. He was the only son of the owner of a huge corporation but he didn’t know how to do anything. He couldn’t even read. All he did was drink, party and spend money. He even had a bat-mobile. How cool! Envy!!

What struck me is the statement he made ( British accent in mind)
” My father was a frugal man.He walked every where, never drunk in his life and always ate healthy. He collapsed and died of a heart attack when he was 43. Lesson I learnt from that? There is no point in taking care of yourself. Just live and be happy, like me!”

If anyone lived like him, you would probably be dead by now. He was perpetually drunk and all he did was look for amusement. He once got caught and he decided to also pay for the bail of all the other criminals in that police station.Insane! But come to think of it, fate is indeed quite unfair sometimes. You could find that a person who was always cautious of his health contracting a terminal illness, while on the other hand a person who has never paid any attention to the warnings and advice from several quarters on his health, will live a relatively healthy and long life. If that’s not unfair, I don’t know what is.

Fate is probably somewhere having a laugh and looking for the next unfortunate victim. For the believers of fate, i think they should source for good fortune elsewhere because fate has more mood swings than a woman at menopause. One day heaven sent with love, the other day sent from hell with hate.

Fate is a concept cooked up by people in search of explanation for the unknown. Humans are always in search of complexities to explain their lives. I won’t go into that. Thats a post for another day.

So for the believers in fate, woe unto you for you have let your life be at the mercy of a tantrum throwing evil kid with a twisted sense of humor. Try Jesus. The solid rock on which i stand. Atleast then you’ll be sure he is never changing.itches. I haven’t laughed like that in a long time. The movie is titled Arthur and it is about a spoilt filthy rich British guy called Arthur.
